CEP Letter
CEP Letter to Families - We are pleased to inform you that PFPCS implement a program available to schools participating in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

SUN Bucks
As a reminder, a student is automatically eligible for 2024 SUN Bucks if they were enrolled any time during the 2023-2024 school year in an NSLP/SBP-participating school and qualified for free or reduced-price meals based on Direct Certification, Categorical Eligibility (homeless, foster, migrant, runaway, or Head Start), or Household Application for Free/Reduced Meals.
Note: Students who attended a school that did not sponsor the NSLP/SBP in 2023-2024 are eligible for SUN Bucks if they are on the State’s DC list and are of compulsory age (6 to 18 years). DHS will automatically issue benefits to these children.
Any student’s family who is not automatically eligible for SUN Bucks can apply for SUN Bucks directly with DHS (see application information under Resources below). DHS SUN Bucks Resources:

- Eligibility Navigator: a tool on the DHS SUN Bucks website that allows families to determine if their child is automatically eligible for SUN Bucks and whether they need to apply. Online: SUN Bucks Eligibility Navigator.
- SUN Bucks application – a fillable online form on the DHS SUN Bucks website or a paper form obtained at the family’s County Assistance Office (CAO).
- SUN Bucks applications are due by 8/31/2024 to be considered for the 2024 benefit. Applications received by DHS after 8/31 will be considered during the 2025 summer application period.

P-EBT: P-EBT Information for Families and Family Guide
The Department of Human Services (DHS) will leave the family P-EBT support center open for family P-EBT inquiries only through November 2023. We recommend that you let your students’ families know of this deadline. If they have any questions about their child’s P-EBT benefits for any year, they should contact the DHS family support center as soon as possible.

Rights to Know Law
Parent Right to Know Information as Required by The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) [Section 1112(e)(1)(A)] and the Every Student Succeeds Act [Section 1112(e)(1)(A)]
Dear Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s):
Your child attends PFPCS which receives Federal Title I funds to assist students in meeting state achievement standards. Throughout PFPCS year, you will receive from PFPCS information about such Title I funds and your child's education. This Notice informs you of your right to request information about the qualifications of the classroom staff working with your child and information about your child's assessments.
PFPCS is very proud of its teachers and how prepared the teachers are to provide your child a high-quality education for the coming school year. PFPCS receives Title I funding and therefore must satisfy federal regulations related to teacher qualifications as defined in ESEA. Such regulations provide you with the opportunity to learn more about your child's teachers' training and credentials, information PFPCS is happy to supply. You may request information regarding:
- Whether the teacher met state qualifications and certification requirements for the grade level and subject the teacher is teaching;
- Whether the teacher received an emergency or conditional certificate through which state qualifications were waived;
- What undergraduate or graduate degrees the teacher holds, including graduate certificates and additional degrees, and major(s) or area(s) of concentration; and
- Whether your child receives assistance from a paraprofessional and, if so, information about the paraprofessional's qualifications.
PFPCS shall also provide to parents of a child enrolled in the Charter School, if applicable and available, (a) information on the level of achievement and academic growth on each of the state academic assessments; and (b) timely notice if their child has been taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet applicable state certification or licensure requirements at the grade level and subject area in which the teachers has been assigned.
Per ESSA, you may request information regarding:
- Policies pertaining to student participation in assessments; and
- Procedures for students to opt out of assessments;
- Additionally, PFPCS shall post on its website assessment details such as: o Information on each state-required assessment;
- Subject matter tested;
- Purpose of the testing; o Source of the requirement for the testing (if applicable);
- Amount of time students will have to complete the testing; and
- Time and format of disseminating assessments results.

The Parent-School Compact is a shared agreement between People for People Charter School, our families, and students. It outlines how we will work together to support student learning, build strong communication, and foster academic success throughout the year.

It reflects our joint commitment to ensuring that every child is equipped with the tools, encouragement, and consistency they need to meet high academic standards.
Parent & Family Engagement Policy
The Parent and Family Engagement Policy at People for People Charter School outlines our commitment to building meaningful, two-way partnerships with families to support student learning and school improvement. Rooted in the belief that families are essential partners in education, this policy establishes how the school will communicate, collaborate, and create opportunities for families to engage in their child’s academic journey.
